The Kehoe story began in 2000; starting with Ken’s side hustle – fabricating small dock projects in the Brockville area after working full-time at Fedorki’s. Ken soon turned his hobby into a thriving business, supported by his wife Sarah, who was the mastermind to making it all happen in the background. Beginning in a modest 24×24 garage, they specialized in residential stationary docks, initially with the help from local friends. As demand grew, the business began focussing on pre-fabrication, a pioneering move in the marine construction industry. Facing challenges like lack of waterfront property, they built their first barge in 2003, followed by custom boats and tugs. Just weeks after the birth of their first son, Ken Kehoe made the bold decision to leave his full-time job, giving rise to Kehoe Marine Construction.

By 2007, the Kehoe family finally purchased a waterfront property which marked a turning point for the business – enabling further growth into manufacturing and commercial marinas. Their portfolio expanded to include projects like dock replacements, dredging, and shoreline restorations. Sarah’s business acumen and operational expertise played a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day activities and driving strategic initiatives; ensuring Kehoe’s sustained success for over 20 years. Their journey exemplifies the true entrepreneurial spirit and resilience in tackling new challenges, from docks to dredging and beyond.

Now employing over 60 full-time, year-round staff; Kehoe is a main contributor to Brockville’s waterfront – ensuring local enjoyment of the St. Lawrence River.
